Easton's Witches Walk Runs Later in Its Second Year

The Witches Walk is back this weekend, still free and still split between two locations. Friday, Oct. 23, runs from 4 to 9 p.m. in Centre Square, and Saturday, Oct. 24, runs from 3 to 8 p.m. at Scott Park on Larry Holmes Drive. The bigger change from last year is when things happen. Saturday's program now ends two hours later than it did in 2025. The new fire-spinning act goes on after 6 p.m. on both days. Several downtown businesses have also planned their specials for after the festival's posted end times. In its second year, the Witches Walk has become an evening event.

LehighValleyLive reported that last year's first Witches Walk drew more than 1,000 people, citing a news release from the organizers. Here's how this year's schedule compares with last year's.

What Moved Between Year One and Year Two

2025 2026
Friday, Centre Square Oct. 24, 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23, 4 to 9 p.m. on the city calendar
Saturday, Scott Park Oct. 25, 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 24, 3 to 8 p.m.
Saturday water activity "Witches on the Water" paddleboarding Not on this year's program
Fire performance Fire spinners on Friday Twin Flame Experience, 6 to 7 p.m. both days

Saturday's program in 2025 ended at 6 p.m. This year, 6 p.m. is when the Twin Flame Experience starts. LehighValleyLive describes the act as a local husband-and-wife duo performing theatrical fire spinning, and it's new this year. Last year's Saturday at Scott Park was an afternoon by the river with pumpkin painting and paddleboarding. This year's Saturday ends with a fire show and a costume contest.

There's one inconsistency in Friday's hours. The city's calendar listing and LehighValleyLive both say 4 to 9 p.m. Easton Main Street Initiative's own event page shows Friday in Centre Square as 4 to 8 p.m. Everything on the stage schedule wraps up by 7:30 p.m., so the discrepancy only matters if you were planning to arrive late.

Friday Is Built Around the Shops

Friday falls on the same night as Easton Main Street Initiative's Fourth Friday, when participating businesses hand out candy to children. The festival's event page asks visitors to walk through downtown, look at the witchy window displays, and vote for their favorite small-business display. On Friday, the event is spread across downtown storefronts.

The stage schedule in Centre Square:

  • 4:40 p.m. Janna Gay and Gina Ricci teach the German witches' dance made famous by Wolfshäger Hexenbrut. No experience is needed.
  • 5 p.m. The community dance begins, and Jeanette Hinton of JAM Music Productions leads the dance party.
  • 5:30 p.m. The Sanderson Sisters from "Hocus Pocus," performed by A Storybook Party, take the stage.
  • 6 to 7 p.m. The Twin Flame Experience performs fire spinning.
  • 6:30 p.m. The costume contest. Judges include Easton's mayor, members of City Council, and JP of Chocodiem, and prizes include gift cards, trophies, and medals.

The city's listing also includes tarot readers, magicians, street performers, and a dance party in the square. Some of the shop activities run past the posted schedule. The Loving Piece is offering quick intuitive card readings from 4 to 9 p.m. Meli European Taverna's Friday happy hour starts at 9 p.m., right when the city's listing says the festival ends. Angel's House of Design is hosting psychic tarot readers from 3 to 8 p.m. along with themed shopping.

At 7 p.m., the women's volleyball team at Lafayette College plays Lehigh at Kirby Sports Center, and the college lists it as an event with no ticket required. If your household is split between the square and College Hill on Friday, the costume contest and first serve are only half an hour apart.

Saturday Can Fill the Whole Day

Saturday has the most to do, because the Witches Walk's later hours now connect to several other events. Here's how the day lines up:

  1. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Easton Farmers' Market. LehighValleyLive suggests starting the day there.
  2. Noon to 3 p.m. Lafayette's Fall Fest on the Quad, which the college says everyone is invited to. It's part of the college's Fall Weekend, Oct. 23 to 25. Many Fall Weekend activities require registration, but Fall Fest is open to the public.
  3. 3 p.m. Two things start at once. The Witches Walk opens at Scott Park, and Lafayette women's soccer plays Loyola at Gummeson Grounds on the Metzgar Campus. The soccer game also requires no ticket.
  4. 4 or 4:30 p.m. The Sanderson Sisters perform at Scott Park. LehighValleyLive says 4 p.m., and Easton Main Street's listing says 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. If you're going for this act in particular, plan to be there by 4.
  5. 4:40 and 5 p.m. The Hexenbrut dance lesson, then the community dance, the same as Friday.
  6. 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Saturday costume contest.
  7. 6 to 7 p.m. The Twin Flame Experience performs fire spinning again.
  8. 8 p.m. The festival ends. A participating lounge and café downtown is hosting an after-party with a live DJ that starts at the same time.

The city's Saturday listing also includes family activities, witch-and-wizard face painting, food and drink specials at local restaurants, and activities at shops. A separately organized event, the Easton Zombie Pub Crawl, brings more people in costume downtown on Saturday. It's ticketed, it's for ages 21 and older, and its festivities are centered at Rivals, a few blocks from Scott Park. Expect more costumed foot traffic between the river and the square on Saturday evening than on Friday.

Shop Specials That Run All Weekend

Several businesses have spread their specials across both days, so you can visit on whichever day suits you:

  • Sonny Daze has monster-mash activities Friday, a Slimers Slime Bar Saturday, and a Broom Bar, crafting, potions, cider, and a pumpkin-picking game on both days.
  • Belleville Market has candy for trick-or-treaters, discounts on Halloween décor, and samples of Witch's Brew Glitter Sangria on Saturday. It also has outdoor merchandise displays if the weather allows.
  • Salvage Goods has candy, discounts, witchy cocktails, and Black Magic Hot Chocolate.
  • Glazed has witchy donuts all weekend.
  • Sakade is giving witches 14 and under two free game tokens and free hot chocolate.
  • Hologram Zoo Lehigh Valley is taking $5 off its Halloween holographic experience through the end of October.
  • Boxology is hosting a witches' boxing competition and women's self-defense activities. Times are on its own schedule.

The festival page also lists Book & Puppet Co. and Hair To Dye For as participants, and it promotes a costume contest for pets with prizes and treats. The page doesn't give a date or time for the pet contest, so check before bringing your dog.

The Ferry Street Closure Lifts as the Festival Opens

Two city road projects begin the week of the festival, and neither should interfere with the festival hours. A water-main contractor is closing Ferry Street between South 3rd and South 4th streets starting Monday, Oct. 19, through about Friday, Oct. 23, weather permitting. The street is closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and reopens each evening, according to the city's alert. If the work stays on schedule, Friday's daily closure ends at 4 p.m., the same time the festival opens in Centre Square.

Line Street on the South Side is getting repaved by a UGI contractor starting the same Monday. The work is expected to take about two weeks, weather permitting, with lane restrictions and delays on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a second city notice. The weekday-only restrictions should leave Saturday's drive to Scott Park clear, but expect them again the following week.

Both notices say "weather permitting," and the festival's public materials don't include a rain plan. Before you leave, check the Easton Main Street Initiative's event page for any day-of changes.

Living within walking distance of both Centre Square and Scott Park changes what a weekend like this is like, from an evening in the square to an afternoon on the river.
